We live in great wine times. The
quality of Oz wines has never been better and more exciting, and the strength of
the AUD means the range & value of imported wines is amazing and is keeping
the pressure on our local producers to perform. But, make no mistake, there is
still a lot of garbage out there and if you can't drink it, or don't like it, it
doesn't matter how cheap it is. Everything we offer comes with our 100%
quality guarantee, so you will always buy with confidence.

New releases this week
from Moss Wood after our sensational
winemaker's dinner at VicAsia, and we have great offers on these, including the
exceptional Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 recently rated 98 pts. We also have a couple of
stunning new additions to our Mod Oz
collection, where you will find the best value and quality
from the hottest young producers in Australia. The Story Wines Tempest Grampians Shiraz 2011 is a
belter. Savoury, supple and spicy (peppery jumps to mind) and super value at
only 25.0, it will certainly get a good run at Casa del Marr this winter. The
other ripper red comes from David Bowley and is his quirky & delicious Vinteloper Adelo Red 2011 which is a blend of
Touriga, Shiraz & Pinot Noir that somehow magically works. At 29.0 it is
fabulous.
Two very slurp-able Cotes du Rhones
from Laurence Feraud have just landed. The Cotes du Rhone 2010 @18.33 and Plan Pegau 2009 (think baby Chateauneuf) for 22.0
are well worth a 6 pack or two of each. Likewise, one of the juiciest and
tastiest Bourgogne Rouge we have seen for some time has just landed. The Philippe Collotte cuvee de Noble Souche Bourgogne
2010 is a beauty from a vintage described as one for lovers of
real Burgundy by Burghound, and another value plus bargain at only 29.0 a
bottle.
If you need a white or two, we are
still running our unbeatable deal on the Epicure Wine of the Week (5 star
quality and value) Tim Adams Riesling 2011 @ 16.5 a bottle and there
is also the 94pt Armchair Critic Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2010 for just
16.0 that both should do the trick nicely! You can check out all our latest
special offers here.
We are in the process of putting
together a plethora of outstanding wine events, including tastings, lunches,
dinners and more so stay tuned. Next week there is the Yalumba Rare & Fine Dinner at Lamaros and if
you really want to treat yourself, there are just a couple of spots left at our
ultimate winter escape
to the tropical paradise that is Orpheus Island for 4 days of
vinous hedonism. Get the details here.
